The frappato is a very old vine whose origin is not certain. Its etymology derives from being trapped (chopping, crushing), probably due to the characteristic jagged shape of its leaves.
It is part of the only Sicilian DOCG, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, blended with Nero d’Avola. In the last decade has become a varietal wine for its perfume and elegance.
Our Frappato is grown on chalky white soil that gives the wines a particular taste freshness and aromatic complexity.
